2020 Election Study survey includes LeBron James and Taylor Swift as most influential

The most influential artists and athletes like Taylor Swift and LeBron James are encouraging the people about voting in the 2020 election and rise against social dissonance.

While finding out the most influential celebrities in 2020 a lot of changes could be found than the last year. According to the new survey on American voters, NBA Star LeBron James, Pop singer Taylor Swift, actors like Tom Hanks, Dwayne Johnson, and many more artists have the most influential opinion on societal and political matters to raise awareness for all the communities. The survey was conducted by the Whitman Insight Strategies and MRC data partnered with DISQO. It polled around 1,103 voters to examine intersections like entertainment, influence, and politics. Celebrity influences create an impact on their followers, fanatics, and the Gen Z mass. They use their platform to spread awareness and motivation focusing on sensitive issues with the political, racial, or societal background. With the heat of the election cycle and the global pandemic, the initiatives by the celebrities are influencing people much.

In the survey, the voters were asked to mention the topics on which they want their favorite artist, athlete, or influencer to address such as, LGBT equality, racial justice, Climate change and nature, wage equality, feminism, and lastly the dreadful COVID-19. There was all kind of people among the voters like Gen Z and millennials, Latino Americans, LGBTQ, and other communities. 36 percent of them claimed James has influenced the most regarding voting. Then comes Taylor Swift with 13 percent vote, following with Dwayne Johnson with 9 percent votes and lastly Oprah Winfrey with 6 percent of votes. Taylor Swift speaks out on political issues on Twitter and utilizing the platform with a massive follower base of 87.3 million.

Talking about trust issues the survey shows that there are certain people whose opinion the voters trust the most. Tom Hanks stands on the top with 49 percent, followed by Johnson with 45 percent, Winfrey with 38 percent, and James with 32 percent. The democratic voters seem to trust these four persons as well as they came up with the most votes. A vocal supporter of Donald Trump, Rocker Kid Rock came up with 46 percent of votes for most influential voice. However, the Gen Z voters gave 59 percent of the vote to Zendaya following by Beyonce, Johnson, James, Winfrey, and John Legend. The LGBTQ community preferably voted for Lady Gaga with 45 percent of the vote.

Raising the voice against the systematic racism at polls, NBA king James influences the people of his community for the right choice. Likewise, WWE superstar and actor Johnson seem to attract his followers with his honest opinion and humble attitude. However, when the voters were asked whom would they go for on the election day; 54 percent wanted to cast Joe Biden and 42 percent wanted President Trump only. 75 percent of the total voters wanted entertainers to talk about serious issues of the society. As preferable new sources the Democrats selected CNN with 53 percent, republicans chose Fox News with 55 percent. The Gen Z and Millennials chose Google and YouTube with 58 percent, 51 percent,59 percent, and 47 percent respectively.
