Classical music composer Greg E nonsegmental turns to sonic music with his first album ‘2020 dreams’

Producing contemporary classical music was not enough for Greg E a.k.a nonsegmental, so he dishes out the experimental project, a theatre/dance album ‘2020 dreams’.

Greg E

The London based contemporary classical music producer Greg E, more popular with the name nonsegmental, decides to change his style of music to broaden his experimental side with theatre/dance music production. He tries to achieve the same level of eminence with his new album 2020 dreams’ which is an experimental and independent project that was brought by two independent theatre and dance projects during the lockdown period. Pandemic has stored harsh consequences for many artists but he found a new world of opportunities with continuous lockdowns. The confined state helped him to focus on his vivid creativity and change the channel of inspiration to perform an avant-garde sound design for four exclusive instrumental tracks of the forthcoming album. He developed the digital dance theme for his new record from ‘An Ice Thing To Say’ by Vertebra Theatre premiered at the Reykjavik Fringe Festival, and ‘Duelo por un tiempo que una vez fue’ part of Reactivos Culturales (Murcia, Spain) by Piedad Albarracin Seiquer.

Greg E was born in Thessaloniki and his keen interest in sound designing made him an astonishing performer, a sound artist who has been associated with the LSO, London Sinfonietta, Greek National Opera. He is well-known in the theatrical paradigm as nonsegmental who explores a different level of aesthetic when it comes to collaborations with the regular theatre/dance/multimedia projects as a sound designer. ‘2020 dreams’ is his debut album where he tries to project his mystique with sonic waves and dramatic hooks of electronic music. Tracks like ‘Water: our meeting’, and ‘Earth: in the frame’ carry the traces of sanguinity that he felt whilst the lockdown. The songs are stellar examples of atmospheric field recordings.
