It was a true party and a real country-style celebration. Beyoncé kicked off her much-anticipated ‘Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour’ on April 28 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The crowd was filled with cowboy hats and Levi’s jeans, as fans from all over the world came to see the first show of her 32-date tour, which will visit nine cities across the U.S. and Europe.

Here is everything you need to know about the first night of the ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour –

Still ‘That Girl’

Beyoncé brought fans back into the Renaissance era as she performed hits like ‘I’m That Girl’, ‘Cozy’, and ‘Alien Superstar’ from her 2022 album. Blue Ivy definitely stole the spotlight, confidently taking the stage and leading a dance routine to Beyoncé’s 2006 classic ‘Deja Vu’.

Confused at the Grammys

During a video montage of her career highlights, the crowd burst into laughter when a photo flashed showing Beyoncé’s surprised reaction to winning Album of the Year at the Grammys.

‘This Ain’t Texas’

Nearly two and a half hours into the show, Beyoncé wrapped things up with her chart-topping hit ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’. Wearing a “Bncntry” cap and denim shorts, she gave the song a fresh twist by blending it with ‘Pony Up’ and ‘Church Girl’, while fireworks lit up the stage.

Just when fans thought the night was over, the powerful opening notes of ‘Crazy in Love’ echoed through the stadium, quickly followed by a fiery performance of ‘Heated’.

’16 Carriages’ on a flying red car

For the second-to-last performance, Queen Bey chose to sing ’16 Carriages’. But this performance had a twist. She appeared in a red car above the crowd. She also thanked her fans for joining her on the first day of the tour. “I feel so overwhelmed,” she said.

Then, in front of a Statue of Liberty replica, Beyoncé sang ‘Amen’, wearing a bandanna over her mouth. “God bless you,” she said. “Thank you. I love you.”

‘Like a Mechanical Bull’

Beyoncé delivered a stunning moment as she rode a gold-covered mechanical bull while singing her song ‘Tyrant’. As she belted out the lyrics with power and grace, gold confetti filled the air, creating a dazzling scene.

‘Don’t Take My Man’

During her version of Dolly Parton’s classic ‘Jolene’, Beyoncé floated above the crowd in a giant horseshoe. Then she transitioned into her own country-inspired track, ‘Daddy Lessons’, first released on her 2016 Lemonade album.

The Grammys did not recognize the song in country music categories, and her 2016 CMA performance with The Chicks received some backlash. However, those moments sparked her deeper interest in the genre, eventually inspiring the creation of Cowboy Carter.

Beyoncé Performs Viral ‘II Hands’ Dance

The fourth part of the show slowed things down with smooth tracks like ‘Move’, ‘Desert Eagle’, ‘Riiverdance’, and ‘II Hands II Heaven’. Beyoncé brought back her fierce alter ego, Sasha Fierce, showing off sharp dance moves during ‘Desert Eagle’ and ‘Riiverdance’. She danced more this time around, now fully recovered from the knee surgery that limited her movement during the Renaissance World Tour. Fans were eager to see if she would do Drea Kelly’s viral dance during “II Hands II Heaven” and she did not disappoint. Beyoncé playfully nailed the moves while singing, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Daughter Rumi Joins Beyoncé on Stage During ‘Protector’

For the first time ever, Beyoncé’s 7-year-old daughter, Rumi Carter, joined her mom onstage during the heartfelt performance of ‘Protector’. The touching moment ended with Beyoncé, Rumi, and Blue Ivy standing side by side, smiling at each other as the crowd watched in awe. After the song, an emotional video montage of Beyoncé and her children played on the screen, which brought many fans to tears.
