Music’s biggest night lit up Los Angeles on Sunday as the 68th Grammy Awards delivered a packed evening of standout wins and unforgettable performances. Hosted by Trevor Noah, the show featured a show-stopping medley from the Best New Artist Nominees, with Sabrina Carpenter soaring across the stage dressed as a flight attendant and Lady Gaga commanding attention in a dramatic feathers and cage look while performing ‘Abracadabra’.

When it came to awards, Olivia Deam claimed Best New Artist, while Kendrick Lamar continued his winning streak with Best Rap Album and Record of the Year for ‘Luther’ alongside SZA. Bad Bunny closed the night on a historic note, winning Album of the Year just days before his Super Bowl performance. He made history by becoming the first to win the top prize with an all-Spanish-language album. So, let’s look at the event highlights and the full list of winners.

Cher’s Surprise Grammy Moment: almost skips the Record of the Year, then says the wrong name!

After delivering a long and heartfelt acceptance speech for her Lifetime Achievement Award, marking her first Grammy appearance in 18 years, Cher turned and headed offstage. “Thank you,” she said. “I guess I’m supposed to walk off now.”

Host Trevor Noah quickly called her back when it became clear she had forgotten she was also meant to present Record of the Year. When Cher opened the envelope, she paused, staring ahead. “Oh,” she finally said. “They told me it was going to be on the prompter.”

The winner was “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar with SZA, but Cher accidentally announced “Luther Vandross” instead. The mix-up made sense, though, since the track samples Vandross’s 1982 duet with Cheryl Lynn, “If This World Were Mine.”

Hip hop’s biggest moment of the night belonged to Kendrick Lamar, who won Record of the Year for ‘Luther’ featuring SZA and Best Rap Album for ‘GNX’. The wins pushed him past Jay Z as the most awarded rapper in Grammy history, with 27 trophies. Fans flooded social media in celebration, calling the moment historic and praising his artistry and impact on the culture.

Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean Reunite for Emotional ‘Killing Me Softly’ Tribute to Roberta Flack

The Grammys in memoriam segment closed on a powerful note with a moving tribute to Roberta Flack, who died in February 2025. Lauryn Hill delivered a rare performance of ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’, backed by Jon Batiste on keys, before Leon Bridges, October London, Lalah Hathaway, John Legend, and Chaka Khan joined for a medley of Flack classics like ‘Where Is the Love?’ and ‘The Closer I Get to You’. Hill then returned for ‘Feel Like Makin’ Love’, before the room erupted when Wyclef Jean emerged with a guitar for a chilling rendition of ‘Killing Me Softly With His Song’. This blended Flack’s original with the Fugees’ iconic version.

‘Golden’ Won a Grammy

It was a huge night for the KPop Demon Hunters team as ‘Golden’ won Best Song for Visual Media, with Ejae proudly celebrating her Korean roots in the press room. “[I’m] so, so proud to be Korean,” she said. “That’s why it’s so incredible to have the song ‘Golden’ being sung all over the world — I think this award is about that representation. Today is about celebrating culture — and music that unites all cultures.”

Post Malone and Slash Pay Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne

Post Malone and Slash delivered one of the night’s loudest moments with a fiery cover of Black Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’, reminding everyone why Ozzy Osbourne remains metal royalty. Backed by Chad Smith and Andrew Watt, the performance hit hard and ended in a wall of feedback that was a proper tribute to Sabbath’s legacy.

Tyler, the Creator, staged the night’s wildest performance. He pulled up in a Ferrari F40 at a 1950s gas station set for a live ‘Sugar on My Tongue’ music video moment that ended in chaos. He earned six nominations for Chromakopia and related projects.

In her Song of the Year acceptance speech, Billie Eilish addressed immigration policy, saying it feels hard to know what to say right now. “No one is illegal on stolen land,” she said. “We just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting. Our voices matter.” The broadcast bleeped her added line, “F*** ICE, is what I want to say.”

Justin Bieber Delivers Naked Truth

Justin Bieber made a bold return to the Grammys stage with one of the night’s most talked-about performances. In his first appearance since 2022, he delivered a stripped-back and emotional version of ‘Yukon’, wearing only boxers and socks. The artist once again proved that he needs very little to make a moment land. With just a guitar, loop pedal, and microphone, the 31-year-old reminded viewers why he has stayed at the top for so long. The raw energy and vulnerability hit hard, making his upcoming Coachella headline set feel even more exciting. Bring on Bieberchella!!

Now, let’s move on to the complete list of Grammy 2026 winners.
