KTHRTK, pronounced as “cathartic” is a dream project and brainchild of Veteran NYC bassist Doug Berns which includes guitar master Sean Salant and drumming technician Alex Cohen. The entire team has found harmony in aspects of extremity that is led by expressive and metaphorical metal music. Berns has been in the music industry for several years and is passionate about music since his childhood has helped him craft a career in it. However, it is not long before that he has been fully involved in metal music. With this debut project of the band, the members lean more into the heavy forms of the metal genre, such as deathcore, nu-metal, symphonic metal, groove metal, math metal, etc.

Dreams Are The Only Safe Place To Hideis a conceptually devoted album that focuses on the protagonist’s poor mental health and how escape is only possible when detached from the real world. The tracks are lyrically deep, combining perfectly with the heavy and hardcore metal composition that uses cymbals, drum heads, bass rumble, and 7-string guitar distortions.
