BLACKPINK‘s Jennie is known for her never-shy-away attitude from setting the trend in the industry. The artist claims her throne of one billion as a Solo music video, marking her new world record on YouTube. The South Korean rapper has earned a fresh benchmark by bragging about one billion views on the largest video streaming platform on the internet. The rapper is also recognized for being the first-ever female K-pop solo singer who has gained this crown. It is nearly dreamy how her solo creation created an unbelievable happen in her career as well as in the music industry.

Moreover, the K-pop artist made her debut as a solo artist back in the year of 2018, the very same year the solo MV was launched on YouTube. Jennie has now expanded her wings and enhanced her ‘solo’ journey to an impactful level while the soundscape was revealed through Interscope and YG. Several of her new starting the mark of something greater, the K-pop artist had different plans for ending 2023 on a hitting note. Gripping the time and making the most of the last days of the previous year, she released her stunning label OA (Odd Atelier) in December 2023.

Additionally, within five hours of its launch on YouTube in 2018, the music video had crossed four million views. She impressively sings on the floor-filling dance track, “This is not a touching love story/ No romance, no sincerity/ I’m sorry, but I’m not sorry/ From today on I’m a shining solo,”

As her music creation’s title recommends ‘Solo’ is her first solo music single independently, she said, “There was some pressure when I was starting because I was representing myself and also BLACKPINK for the very first time,” continued, “being true to yourself and being confident. I hope that listeners can embrace the message and enjoy the song as much as I did.”

She moreover shared what she enjoys doing in her “me-time”, saying, “I like to just stay at home with my family, I eat something nice,” continued noting, “Strawberries are in season in Korea, [so] they’re my go-to every day. Just relax, just rest from everything.”

After its launch, ‘Solo’ made its top position on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales list. The music star became the second solo female K-pop actress, and the first as the main singer, to top the list after CL.The solo video released on November 12, 2018, and since then, it has become an anthem-worthy response to her haters, with the lyrics confirming that “she’s sittin’ on (her) throne”.
