The Stellar Gospel Music Awards 2026 will be available to watch, with organizers launching it on The Stellar Network and BET this weekend.

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards is celebrating its 41st edition in 2026, and this year’s show will premiere on Saturday on The Stellar Network. On Sunday, the ceremony can be watched on BET. This year’s event brings Kirk Franklin as the host, and it was taped on August 15 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The theme for the event was “Feels Like Home,” as it celebrates traditional gospel and choir music along with contemporary worship songs, including genre-bending collaboration and new-age experiments. The President of BET, Louis Carr, said, “Gospel music brings community, culture, and connection together like nothing else, and that’s what makes BET its perfect home.”

Carr also added, “We’re honored to celebrate the artists and creators whose gift moves millions, and to bring gospel’s greatest night to our audience.” The award ceremony will recognize the musical contributions of the gospel artists in the music industry as well as global music culture.

Performances

The award ceremony also features diverse performances by JevonDewand& The Trap Starz along with IssacCarree, JazzePha, Gaz Money, JazzePha; Karen Clark Sheard and Yolanda Adams with Jekalyn Carr, Zacardi Cortez with John P. Kee, Melvin Williams and Paul Porter with Kelontae Gavin, as well as TyeTribbett with ABLAZE. The versatile line-up and collaborative approach is what listeners are eagerly looking forward to.

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards turn into a music festival with additional performances by Lisa Knowles-Smith &The Brown Singers, KierraSheard-Kelly, Melvin Crispell III, Maranda Curtis, PJ Morton, Marvin Sapp, Vincent Bohanan& SOV, as well as William Murphy.

When it comes to the winners of the Gospel awards, Lisa Knowles-Smith stays at the top with a total of 5 wins in 2026. She won the prestigious Albertina Walker Female Artist of the Year award. The list of winners also includes The Brown Singers, Darrel Walls, Jonathan McReynolds, Vincent Bohanan& SOV, Jekalyn Carr, and John P. Kee.

Pastor Mike Jr. was honored at the event with the Thomas A. Dorsey Most Notable Achievement Award, recognizing his contributions and impact in the genre. There is also Tasha Cobbs, who won the Aretha Franklin Icon Award for her influential career in the gospel music industry.
