Australia’s biggest music celebration, the Laneway Festival, has announced the dates for its 2027 edition. The announcement comes amid the retirement of the festival’s last director.
The Aussie music celebration, Laneway Music Festival, has gained much attention in recent years, and it is coming back for its 2027 edition. The festival has already announced its dates for this year, and this time, Sydney has also opened its gates for this touring music celebration for the first time.
The festival will run for four days, and it is kicking off from Sydney’s Centennial Park. The first day takes place on Friday, February 12, which means it is also Valentine’s weekend, offering a perfect romantic escape through music. It will then head to the Brisbane Showgrounds on Saturday, February 13, and then it will head to Flemington Park in Melbourne, which is its longtime home, on Friday, February 19.
The last day of the show is scheduled at Auckland’s Western Springs on Sunday, February 21. It means the festival will be enjoyed by the people in Australia and New Zealand as well. Unfortunately, the 2027 roster does not include any dates in Adelaide or Perth as the organizers are trying to decrease the footprint for the event. The grand music celebration requires crafting multiple stages across various regions within a short time.

The organizers said, “Running so many shows, so close together, across so much ground is a logistical feat we’re proud of, but it also asks a lot of our lineup and crew.” Talking about the pause in the middle, the organizers said that it will help them “to focus on making the festival the best it can be.” They also assured that the venues that are omitted are not permanent.
Laneway Festival 2026 moved to Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast for the Queensland leg, and its return to the Brisbane Showgrounds is making the fans happy. The lineup of artists and its complete roster has not been announced yet, as it is scheduled to be revealed soon, in the next month.
Laneway Festival director Jessie Parker has departed from the role after 16 years, and this year’s 2027 festival came along with the previous director leaving. 2026 marked the 21st anniversary for the festival, and the lineup was led by new pop star Chappell Roan along with other new talents in the industry, including Wet Leg, Geese, PinkPantheress, Wolf Alice, and Role Model.
