‘Congratulations’ singer Post Malone has postponed his tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, and is now also refraining from performing at Strummingbird 2026.
Malone’s dropping off the event created a void which will be filled by fellow US acts, namely Tyler Childers and Sam Barber, who have already gained much attention with their musical contributions. The Strummingbird lineup for 2026 will also be joined by Australian songwriter James Johnston.
The official announcement reads, “We’re gutted to let you know that Post Malone will no longer be headlining Strummingbird, due to the recent postponement of his Asia and Australian tours.”
Meanwhile, Post Malone was scheduled to kickstart his biggest Antipodean headline shows this October, and the tour was set to start from Melbourne. There were further dates for Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland, but all of the dates are called off now.

Malone was booked to perform as a Strummingbird headliner for various places including Ballarat, Newcastle, and the Sunshine Coast. The lineup for the event also included Cooper Alan, Stella Lefty, Bailey Zimmerman, Dexter & the Moonrocks, Max Jackson, Brad Cox, Sara Berki, and many others.
The upcoming music tour by Post Malone would have been supported by Don Toliver, who was also scheduled to perform, but now that the tour is being called off, the artist does not have a chance to join. This tour by Malone comes after years, as the last time he appeared for a sold-out concert in the Southern Hemisphere was in 2023 when he performed in Australia and New Zealand for Spilt Milk shows.
It goes without saying that Post Malone is one of the genre-bending artists in the modern era who can rap and sing and likes to dabble between hip-hop, pop, and country as well. Previously, he appeared in a country collaboration with Morgan Wallen. He has recently received a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album with his latest project ‘F-1 Trillion’. It is a Nashville-style record that gained much attention from music critics.
He has also united with other artists, namely Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, and Blake Shelton, expanding his country music journey. Post has dropped Strummingbird and announced upcoming Australian tour dates, but his country music journey is still ongoing.
